Tis the Season….

Soccer season that is!  Nothing like a bunch of 3 and 4 year olds running around kicking each other, trying to steal a soccer ball.**Shin guards are a MUST, even though they said Optional’**  We had everything from the little girl who cried when anyone ran faster than her to the two ball hogs who were obviously older and had played soccer before.  Overall, it was pretty fun for the kids. There’s not a real high expectation of skill at this age.  I’m sort of thinking it’s a good excuse to hang around other adults for an hour and wear your kids out so they’ll sleep good… at least for one night.

It’s also a way to fund the local YMCA, which I’m all for, but I wish I’d realized what I was getting into before I put my checkbook away.  In the old days, when Taylor was playing Y-Sports, you paid the $50 to play and they included practice equipment and jerseys.  Everything else was volunteer hours.  Now, it’s “pay the $50, bring your own equipment and buy the required jersey”.  Still, I think Y-Sports is great for the kids and I’m excited to get this season going.

I’m also hoping to get some good shots of the kids playing.  Here are a few of my favorites from this week.  Looks like I really need to practice changing the settings for action shots. A lot are at a weird angle and fuzzy.  Anywho….
