True Story Tuesday

I know this is weird, but for those that know me, I'm rarely at a loss for words. But, here I sit on Tuesday evening racking my brain. So, for lack of a better story, here it goes:

Every night when I put Sydney and Chase to bed, they argue over who will shut off the bedroom light last. I tried to let one do it one night and the other the next night. That was a no-go. So, every night, they would get up, one at a time and run to the switch and turn it on and then off again.... over and over until I'd lost my patience.

One night last week, I told them both to stay in bed "or else". I pulled the door almost closed and waited to see who the brave soul would be to turn the light on first. That's when I heard the little instigator (Sydney) whisper.. "Chase, hurry... go turn the light on". At that point, I opened the door and said "I forgot to tell you, it doesn't matter who turns the light on, you will both be in trouble".

I pulled the door almost closed again and waited. That's when Miss Sydney changed her tune and said "Chase... stay in bed and don't you dare touch that light!". Ha! I had to hurry away from the door to keep myself from laughing out loud.

If you've got a TRUE story you'd like to share, hop on over the Once Upon a Miracle... "or else"!

  1. I'm totally cracking up. They are a couple of cute little conspirators! Don't you love it when a parenting idea occurs that does the trick?

(still giggling over their little conversation!)

Thanks so much for joining up - I'm looking forward to more stories (you must have loads of materials between all three of your kids, right?? :)

So glad you made it to link up today!

  2. Hilarious!!!! Oooh, I'm gonna have to join the fun!

I love when kids do stuff that you KNOW is wrong, but you just can't help but laugh your head off! Happens to me at school all the time. : )
